The Centre for Creativity in Education and Cultural Heritage - CCECH
The Centre for Creativity in Education and Cultural Heritage (CCECH) is non-profit charitable organisation in Israel, founded in 1991, which runs innovative education programmes based on folklore that help create a climate of cultural pluralism and inter-generational understanding. Arab and Jewish children in this region might come from neighbouring communities but have little opportunity of getting to know one another in everyday life. Successive waves of violence continue to create deep mistrust and fear on all sides. CCECH programmes bring together Arab, both Moslem and Christian, and Jewish school-communities, focusing simultaneously on several issues facing Israeli and Palestinian societies: relations between neighbouring Jewish and Arab communities caught in the conflict; cultural pluralism; and the transmission of traditions between generations in modern society. The CCECH website is under development and will be launched shortly.
